Create Certificate File
Fiuu needs a .cert file to register your app alongside the GPG file from
Encrypt Service Account Credential File —
this is part of the app-registration/credentialing step, done once per app
before you can go live.
To generate a certificate file from your existing keystore:
keytool -export -keystore path/to/keystore.keystore -alias yourAlias -rfc -file path/to/export.cert
Keystore file extension
-keystore accepts either a .keystore or .jks file — both are the same
underlying format, just different naming conventions. Point it at whichever
extension your existing keystore uses.
Parameters
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
-keystore | Path to the keystore file (.keystore or .jks). |
-alias | Alias name of the key entry within the keystore. |
-rfc | Exports the certificate in Base64-encoded (PEM) format. |
-file | Output path and filename for the generated certificate. |
Example
keytool -export -keystore my-release-key.keystore -alias mykey -rfc -file my-release-cert.cert
keytool -export -keystore my-release-key.jks -alias mykey -rfc -file my-release-cert.cert
After running the command, you'll be prompted for the keystore password.
Once validated, the certificate file is generated at the specified output
path. Send this .cert file, together with the .gpg file from
Encrypt Service Account Credential File, to
Fiuu.
